Ora Toa Medical Centres are primary healthcare clinics where you will join a passionate team that serves a vibrant multicultural community. We are a Kaupapa Māori service, striving to lead significant change for our community.

These roles are situated at our Takapuwahia Medical Centre in the heart of Porirua.

Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role

Full Time and Part Time Roles Available.

The General Practitioner is responsible for:

  • Providing a high standard of personal primary and continuing care to individuals and families within our patient population

  • Integrating physical, psychological, social and spiritual factors in consideration about health and wellness

  • Working in collaboration with both TROTR health workers and other health providers to support the excellent care of our patients

  • Practicing Well Health promotion, disease prevention and curative medicine in an integrated way

 

Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you

We have a couple of roles available:

  • You have completed your Fellowship and have been given the FRNZCGP. Furthermore, you will bring teaching experience and a background of working with Māori / Pacific Island population groups. Providing leadership by contributing to coaching and mentoring of fellow colleagues, sharing skills and experience to build capability and capacity, and participating in activities that lift the capability of all Rūnanga staff.

  • You are a GPEP3 qualified doctor. You will have had formal training with cultural safety/in NZ context/hauora māori.

  • Providing leadership by contributing to coaching and mentoring of fellow colleagues, sharing skills and experience to build capability and capacity, and participating in activities that lift the capability of all Rūnanga staff.
