Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira Marae Representative Seat Voting

2024 TE RŪNANGA O TOA RANGATIRA BOARD MARAE REPRESENTATIVE ELECTIONS

In accordance with the Rūnanga Rules, the Rūnanga Board is made up of the following representation; 4 General Representative Seats and 4 Marae Representative Seats, one from each of our marae, Takapūwāhia, Hongoeka, Wairau and Whakatū.

Every three years, we use an external body to oversee the election process on behalf of the Rūnanga and appoint iwi members to those seats. Last year, we held elections for the General Board Seats. This year we ran a similar process for the Marae Seats.

Nominations for the Marae Representative seats opened on Friday 11 October and closed on Monday 11 November. One candidate nomination was received for each marae seat.
