Ngā Tini Whetū Kaiārahi

UPANE KA UPANE, WHITI TE RA!
Advancing together into a brighter future

Ko wai mātou | About us

Well, it’s not actually about us at all.  It’s about the people and communities we serve.  Ngāti Toa is a vibrant and influential iwi, firmly grounded in our cultural identity.  And we’re paddling our own waka forward in leading significant change in enhancing the mana, wellbeing and prosperity of Ngāti Toa and the communities in which we thrive.

Ko te tūranga mahi | About the role

As a Ngā Tini Whetū Kaiārahi, you will operate within a Kaupapa Māori framework, providing comprehensive, wrap-around support for whānau. This role centres on developing and delivering localised solutions that meet whānau needs, reinforce cultural connections, and empower whānau to build their skills and resilience. You’ll play a key role in supporting whānau to realise their aspirations and achieve their goals.

Ko ngā wheako ōu | About you

You are a dedicated, compassionate professional with a background in supporting whānau, ideally within a Kaupapa Māori environment. You bring strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. With experience in designing and implementing whānau-centred support programs, your organisational abilities and attention to detail equip you to effectively empower whānau to reach their goals and aspirations.

But the thing that will really stand out is your love for the work, and the people.  The Rūnanga is a diverse and inclusive organisation positioned to understand and serve our communities. So you’ll be ready to give your best in the service of others, in areas that matter.

And in return for your hard work, we can offer you:

  • Work / Life Balance;

  • Modern environment with friendly team;

  • Kaimahi centred discounts across banking and wellbeing activities;

  • Commitment to professional development;

  • The opportunity to serve our iwi and community aspirations – to be a part of a bigger purpose.

Excited? We are – because we’re up to big things! If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with Cassie Ellery at cassie@whanauwhanake.nz
